Breast implant removals may be performed for personal or health reasons and may even be combined with other breast surgery techniques. At Rosenthal Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery, we offer breast implant removal to residents of Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, and Wellington, Florida.
A breast implant removal is performed to remove previously inserted breast implants and may be done for a variety of reasons. You may choose to have a breast implant removal if you are unhappy with the results from your breast augmentation, or simply no longer want implants. In some cases, breast implants have to be removed due to a ruptured implant. Since the breasts have adapted to the size of the implants, you may choose to combine your breast implant removal with a breast lift or another breast augmentation to restore the appearance of the breasts.
Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Rosenthal is known for his exceptional skill, experience, and expertise, as well as his down-to-earth demeanor and genuine desire to help you feel more confident. He specializes in facial rejuvenation, breast enhancement, and body contouring procedures for women and men of all ages. Dr. Rosenthal is president-elect of the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons in 2024 and will serve as the society's president in 2025.
Andrew H. Rosenthal, MDThe cost of a breast implant removal will vary based on your unique needs and treatment goals, including whether you want to replace your implants or combine the procedure with a breast lift. During your consultation, we take many things into consideration to design a personalized treatment plan that will optimize your results and treatment experience. Once this treatment plan is determined, we will be able to provide you with a clear breakdown of the costs associated with your breast implant removal procedure. We work with various companies that specialize in financing cosmetic surgery, including CareCredit®, PatientFi®, and Yes Doctor.
Before a breast implant removal, we will use anesthesia to ensure that you remain safe and comfortable throughout your treatment. Typically, we will use the incision location from the initial breast augmentation procedure to remove the implants, eliminating any additional scarring. If this is not possible, we make every effort to make the required incisions as small and discreet as possible. Once the implants are removed, the incisions are sealed and the treatment is complete.
After a breast implant removal, you will return to your original breast size. However, your breasts may look saggy or deflated since they had previously adapted to the presence of implants. For this reason, you may choose to have a breast lift or replace the implants that were removed.
The recovery following a breast implant removal is similar to the recovery following the initial breast augmentation procedure. The recovery will vary if you choose to combine your breast implant removal with another breast enhancement surgery. Dr. Rosenthal will inform you how to care for yourself during the healing process, which may include important instructions regarding hygiene, diet, and daily activities.
If you are considering having your breast implants removed, contact us today to schedule a consultation at Rosenthal Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery. We welcome men and women from Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Wellington, and the surrounding areas of Florida.
