Laser Scar Removal
Even relatively small scars may make you self-conscious. Laser scar removal at our Boynton Beach, FL, practice minimizes the appearance of scars caused by acne, injuries, or surgery. Our board-certified plastic surgeons use advanced laser technology to treat scars on the face and body with minimal downtime.
What Is Laser Scar Removal?
Laser scar revision treatments are effective for treating scars of all sizes, whether they’re new or old. Laser scar removal at our practice may be performed using a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser or a powerful type of intense pulsed light (IPL) called broadband light. Laser scar removal—which is similar to laser skin resurfacing—reduces the appearance of scars by stimulating the production of new collagen to create smoother skin.
We offer various scar revision techniques tailored to your specific needs. Besides laser skin resurfacing using a CO2 laser, our treatments include the Sciton® BBL™ device and microneedling combined with radiofrequency (RF) energy.
How Much Does Laser Scar Removal Cost?
The cost of laser scar removal varies depending on your unique needs, treatment goals, and the specific technique used. After your consultation, our providers customize a treatment plan to optimize your results and treatment experience. We provide you with a clear breakdown of the costs associated with your scar revision treatment. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, credit cards, and financing through one of the healthcare financing companies we partner with.
What Happens During Scar Revision Treatments?
Your experience during a laser scar removal treatment begins with applying a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area. This occurs whether we’re using a CO2 laser, BBL, or RF microneedling. Laser skin removal using a CO2 laser removes the scar tissue layer by layer, while stimulating collagen production in the skin’s deeper layers. Laser scar removal typically takes about an hour, but your treatment time will depend on the size of the scar.
Our board-certified plastic surgeons have exceptional skill, experience, and expertise, in addition to a down-to-earth demeanor and genuine desire to help you feel more confident. They specialize in facial rejuvenation, breast enhancement, and body contouring procedures for women and men of all ages.

What Happens During Laser Scar Removal Recovery?
Laser scar removal using a CO2 laser requires a couple of days of downtime for smaller scars. You may experience redness or sensitivity in the treatment area for a few days following your treatment, but this should not prohibit you from returning to work and other normal activities. It is important to protect the treatment area from sunlight and other irritants after treatment because the skin will be especially sensitive until it heals completely.
The results from laser scar removal will be visible immediately after treatment. These results may improve slightly as collagen takes effect in the skin. However, multiple laser scar removal sessions are often necessary to achieve the desired results. Men and women with larger or darker scars will have to receive more treatments than those with smaller or lighter scars.
