Otoplasty

Otoplasty procedures are commonly performed on men and women of all ages to correct ears that are large or protrude from the head. At Rosenthal Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery, we are proud to offer this procedure residents of Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Wellington, FL.

What Is Otoplasty?

Otoplasty, commonly referred to as ear surgery, is a cosmetic procedure designed to correct the size, shape, and position of the ears. The ears can be a source of self-consciousness, especially if they are large or stick out too far from the head. Reconstructive otoplasty techniques can also be used to correct birth defects or severe injuries to the ears. With otoplasty, you can reduce the size of your ears or enhance their shape to improve your appearance. The otoplasty procedure is one of the few cosmetic procedures that are also performed on children, as they might undergo otoplasty to avoid teasing and self-esteem issues.

How Much Does Otoplasty Cost in Boynton Beach?

The cost of otoplasty will vary based on your unique needs and treatment goals. During your consultation, we take many things into consideration to design a personalized treatment plan that will optimize your results and treatment experience. Once this treatment plan is determined, we will be able to provide you with a clear breakdown of the costs associated with your otoplasty procedure. At our practice, the cost of otoplasty (ear pinning) ranges from $6,838 to $8,838.* We work with various companies that specialize in financing cosmetic surgery, including CareCredit®, PatientFi®, and Yes Doctor.

What Can I Expect During the Otoplasty Procedure?

Before an otoplasty, we will use anesthesia to ensure that you remain safe and comfortable throughout the treatment. During the procedure, incisions are made inside the natural folds of the ears, where they are well hidden. In some cases, additional incisions will be made on the back of the ears. Through these incisions, cartilage will be removed and/or repositioned to create the desired results.

What Kind Of Results Can I Expect From An Otoplasty?

The results from otoplasty are visible almost immediately. However, it will take a few weeks for the ears to fully recover from the procedure. The results from an otoplasty can be permanent, but it is important to take special care during the recovery period to ensure that the ears are not injured, which can interfere with your results.

What Happens During Otoplasty Recovery?

During the initial recovery period, which lasts a few weeks, you can expect mild sensitivity and will have to wear a protective headband. During this time, it is of utmost importance to protect the ears from bending or injury. Over the months following this period, the ears will continue to heal and adjust as they settle into their new position. Dr. Rosenthal will inform you how to care for your ears as they heal, which may include important instructions regarding hygiene and daily activities.
